Yin yoga is a form of yoga that concentrates on the profound layers of the body, particularly the connective tissues. By maintaining poses for an extended duration, typically ranging from two to five minutes, we gently stretch the connective tissues, such as tendons and fascia. As the stretch is released, these tissues can absorb fluids, enhancing their flexibility. Moreover, the stillness of the body during the practice helps to calm the mind.
Engaging in Yin yoga is an excellent method to unwind and fully immerse yourself in the present moment before stepping onto the dancefloor! Prior experience is not required, making it accessible to all.
