Surfana Festival, born from surf culture, aims to evolve into a circular, climate-neutral event. We are seeking a Sustainability Coordinator to grow and develop our sustainability vision alongside the festival leadership.

Key Responsibilities

• Driving our 3-year sustainability plan by setting tangible goals.
• Overseeing waste management, reusable systems, and sustainable procurement policies.
• Using tools like the Travel Tracker to monitor CO2 emissions and refine strategies with data analysis in Collaboration with Green Deal Circular Festival.
• Engaging stakeholders to implement sustainable practices and running campaigns to raise environmental awareness among attendees.
• Compiling the annual Sustainability Report, tracking progress, and aligning with long-term sustainability goals

Your profile

• Eager to learn and grow through action
• Passionate about sustainability with a drive to innovate and inspire.
• Imaginative, Independent, solution-oriented, and not afraid to take the initiative.
• Experience in event production or sustainability management.
• Proficient in Google Workspace, Excel, and project management tools.
• Strong organisational skills and comfortable engaging with partners and volunteers.
• Excellent communication skills.

About Surfana Festival

For many,  Surfana Festival is the ultimate (Surf) festival with an international music line-up, 60+ different workshops, about 150 Volunteers and a very special location in a national park in the middle of the dunes, right next to the sea. Everything Surfana stands for: enjoying nature, a loving community, gaining new experiences, getting in touch with special people, comes together in the Surfana Festival weekend. The Festival manager is the glue that binds the festival production team and oversees the execution of all areas of the festival timeline and production. What does the  internship entail? 

As a festival management intern, you will work at Surfana Festival to support the festival manager and Festival director in overseeing the timely execution and  successful implementation of the festival. No 2 days are the same in this role as you will learn about all aspects of the festival production. You’ll be engaging with all festival producers as well as the closest partners. You’re part of making sure the festival runs smoothly and everybody has a very special weekend.  You will be managed by the Festival Manager and the Festival Director

• great passion for surfing, nature, sports or art and desire to inspire people;
• organized and preferably experienced with excel 
• social, hospitable, eye for those who need more attention
• not afraid to pick up the phone or answer calls
• ambition to grow and develop as a festival producer;
• has HBO thinking level and is studying in a relevant direction;
• can do an internship from April to September (continuous during the summer) 
• speaks English fluently (given the fairly international team composition)
